6th Ave Day of the Dead Celebration

Tacoma Works helped start a new tradition in Tacoma: Day of the Dead. While planning for the 6th Avenue event has been turned over to the 6th Avenue Business District, these archives are maintained for your enjoyment:

Hilltop Storefront Mural Project

Inspired by a similar project which was credited with helping turn around a neighborhood up north, this project involves painting a series of “mock” storefronts and placing them on vacant buildings. The murals add color and vibrancy to the neighborhood but also of sharing a vision of possibilities and good things to come.
